Top it off, the filter isn't that much quieter than the Fluval. Its disappointing when you pay for the best and it just doesn't deliver. First impression, primer is the worst design ever. Fluval primer is much better and actually works. I gave up on the primer and filled the hoses with water manually to prime the filter. Since priming is only done once typically, I could look past this issue. First unit I bought had a head gasket leak.The replacements worked fine from the store. I have 2 running on a 220G tank and the flow seems pretty good, flow meter is a good idea. They are the quietest canister which I really like. I think the water bypass design looks better than fluval to ensure 100 of the water flows through all media. Overall, once running they are excellent filters. The air value on hoses is great to bleed air or clean the hoses. I have 2 inline Hydro 300watt heaters inline which doesn't cause any issues. I've heard the more expensive units have flow rate dectors that don't work with inline heaters that reduce the flow enough to confuse the filter logic.
