Upon investigation, it appears that when not used in accordance with the Safety Reminder and Instructions in the user manual, or when subject to force, certain batches of the product manufactured with aluminium alloy hooks in the folding apparatus, may have the potential to fail and without appropriate maintenance, may cause a fall hazard to the rider. Specifically, we are publishing a Safety Notice and rolling out a Repair Programme globally which provides free testing to the affected customers and also replaces the aluminium alloy hook with a stainless steel hook. Without appropriate maintenance, the aluminium alloy hook may fail during subsequent use which may lead the vertical component to fold into the main body while in use. If it does not have an aluminium alloy hook, it is not affected by this Safety Campaign. Please enter the serial number and other required information in the section below to participate in the repair programme. The serial number is located on the side of the base of the scooter with the prefix SN. The programme will replace the aluminium alloy hook with a stainless steel hook at no cost. It also offers a one-time free test which will cover the core components of the device including lights, throttle, buttons, brakes, dashboard, charging port, tyre pressure and bluetooth connection. For some regions, the repair programme is being finalised. Please enter your information below and we will contact you once the repair programme starts in your region. Laura K Pearce 1.0 out of 5 stars That it the only good thing about this scooter, unless you only use it on hard smooth floors. I go to the theme parks almost every weekend here in Florida. The charge on it only holds for 4 hours. That is only about 3-4 miles. I have asked Top Mobility about this and they cannot do anything about it. I was told I am not slamming the battery in the compartment hard enough. Then they said the bumps in the road loosen the battery box and I would need to stop and reslam the battery box back down. Sorry, not going to stop every few feet and reslam the battery. Indoors on smooth hard floors, you will probably be able to get the full charge out of the scooter. Not so if you are going to use it on pavement, sidewalks or theme parks. Use caution when purchasing this scooter, and the company that you purchase through. Top mobility has only a 10 day return window, but the scooter must be in the original box and never used. How are you to know it if works if you cannot use it.I purchased it for my 80 year old mom who has limited mobility and I wanted her to be able to come out and about with me to go shopping and have some outdoor activity. It is perfect. Small enough and strong enough to go into grocery store aisles, navigate sidewalks and even get inbetween tables at restaurants. It folds and unfolds really easily with a couple of levers and the controls are very simple to use. The only downside I must mention to be fair to anyone considering this product is that it is very heavy to lift in an out of a car. It weighs between 44-70lbs according to various online product information resources depending on weight with or without battery (of course when you are using it the battery is included in the overall weight), therefore my mom, or any elderly person with limited mobility, arthritis or any degree of frailty will not be able to lift it into and out of a vehicle. My mom is never out on her own so my husband and I are able to lift it out of the car, set it up for her (takes 10 seconds to unfold) and then she can ride it about independently. The same procedure applies at the end of the outing, she cannot fold it up or lift it back into the car on her own. I have this product a five star review because other than the weight issue the product itself is fantastic and she enjoys using it.I wrote the seller and no response. Not happy with them over that.We have used it to get around three malls and Fort Bend County fairgrounds. Fits ito the back of my Honda Fit hatchback easily when folded with the rear seats of the Fit up!The whole family was going to Disney for a week and I was able to go. It's lightweight and easy to pick up and put in the trunk. I was able to get thru the smallest places and turning was a breeze. It folds down easy, isn't that heavy, so we can fold it down and put in my car. My husbands loves it cause we can go everywhere with it. We traveled to N.C. and got so many compliments on it, as well as Las Vegas. It truly is very helpful to us.I think it is made for shorter people. Folding and unfolding is very easy and makes it managable to put into the back of my SUVIn order to navigate out of this carousel please use your heading shortcut key to navigate to the next or previous heading. In second or third gear in the GTE you can roll hard into the brakes, heck, bring the car to a dead stop, and simply stomp the gas, sorry, accelerator, and immediately be humming again. When I took the car out of gear, and tried to rev it, the motor just spun into oblivion and overwhelmed the clutch causing the car to buck like, well, a regular-old manual car driven at the hands of an amateur. “Ah, ah, nah, nope, you don’t need to downshift, dude,” Hutch almost sounded like he wanted me to make that mistake. I could certainly tell I wasn’t the first. Instead of rev-matching, the way to handle hard deceleration into corners with the GTE is regenerative braking. Advertisement Many electric cars use their own wheels as power sources. Practically speaking, they put an immense amount of drag on the vehicle when the go-pedal is released to suck the energy out of what would be coasting momentum back into the batteries. The GTE doesn’t do this very aggressively by default, it almost coasts like a gas car unless you activate the re-gen manually with a neat little button on the center console near the shifter. Then the car gets pulled back like it’s been pinned under god’s thumb. Squeezing the regular brakes with your foot while simultaneously fingering this button felt a little unnatural, but mastering the move unlocks an incredibly fine level of control over the vehicle’s speed. So I’m told. I just ended up riding second gear all the way up the western roads of the Santa Monica mountains, because the steering on this car was enough of a handful on its own. Advertisement Despite being fully electrified for propulsion, the GTE has a manual steering rack that requires an immense level of effort to operate even though this Ferrari’s about the same size and mass as a loaded shopping cart. If you’ve never turned a car without power steering. At low speed, the GTE’s steering wheel has about as much resistance as a golden retriever with a sock freshly liberated from your drawer. You can get it, but you’re going to get a little sweaty. I’d driven other manual-steering vehicles too, from grandpa’s tractors to dad’s old Fiat. I must say; the weight of the wheel in this GTE felt a lot closer to farm equipment. But this is what old coots at car meets are talking about when they say “they don’t make ’em like they used to.” You don’t need any kind of special sport mode when your steering is completely unassisted, you feel every inch of the road and as a result, you feel like you earn every turn. A car of future past Advertisement Learning to broker love between the GTE’s electric power plant and manual transmission dominated my drive experience at first. But that’s not what I remember when I close my eyes and think back to the day I spent with this car. And I do daydream about this thing, believe me. Besides the novelty of new power in an old outfit, the GTE had a uniquely invigorating combination of weight balance and power. The car felt light and tiny in turns, but the steering was heavy enough to give the car a real sensation of power and precision at any speed. And once I did tap the power; thunderous acceleration from a slow roll. In the mix with all that, classic Ferrari idiosyncrasies like delicate hidden door handles and scooping shovel-seats are perfectly preserved. The heavy breathing of an engine is missed, for sure, but the GTE is faster and smoother and more reliable. Electric GT has done away with the noise, but there’s plenty of personality in this car. Super fitting. More groovy infomercial music and the mystical mustache man: See all replies. And making real progress. In addition to focusing on technological innovation, we also prioritise sustainability and low environmental impact when developing our components. The customers of our gearshift systems benefit extensively from this potential.
