Among the new features are: China stretched its imperial muscles, and by 2067 had seized control of many of the formerly sovereign nations of southern and eastern Asia. A new country called the United Federation of Asian Republics, known simply as UFAR, was born. Earth was overpopulated, and its everdwindling resources would never be able to foster UFAR’s continued growth. UFAR looked to the stars to provide. Scientific advancements allowed Mars’ barren land to bear fruit, and the red planet became Earth’s breadbasket. Administering the affairs of two planets is no easy task. Enemies could be lurking Space Turrets were built as a first means of defense. These small structures were capable of blasting enemy space ships out of the sky. New advances were researched at the Granary and Tank Factory, and the innovations helped to usher in the new age. Citizens are no longer required to cultivate and harvest food, thus freeing them for other uses. Robotic Farm technology is researched at the Granary. The brain-child of weapons specialists at the Tank Factory, the Anti-Missile Battery is the only defense against nuclear missiles (see page 22 for more on nuclear missiles). Than there're of course the in-game tutorials that usually let any new gamer easily at least play a simple game. Or maybe make it so people don't always have to search the internet for codes (Yes For Singleplayer). Grex, Imhotep, Jaded Knights, Punks, University, Glows, Facility, Trade Center, Stainless Steel Studios.Anyone who reads computer manuals, knows, that manuals are usually hundreds and hundresd of pages long. Reguler people find computer manuals, boring, dry, and very time consuming. Most of the players of EE are under the age of 16 years of age, hence a group largely consisting of having ADD. EE is a fast paced, actioned packed game. Reading manuals is geeky and nerdy. An exiting, interactive learning campaign pitting players to learn statagy and hotkeys would be the way I would go. Sometimes when reading a manual, I get to a point in the early part where I don't get a single point made and not knowing that point, I won't get a lot of the following material, and since, there is no explanation, I toss the manual in a corner and forget about it altogether. This is not just MY opinion. I have heard the fact that manuals should go under some scrutiny for comprehendability, from many, many people. To agree with park: repetative noobie questions about the same thing over and over, is getting a bit tiring. I love to answer more challenging questions about scenario design.Something like that would take a bit of time to compile and my hands are pretty full now. Part of how I shined during the early parts of AOK. Grex, Imhotep, Jaded Knights, Punks, University, Glows, Facility, Trade Center, Stainless Steel Studios.Have to say I don't hate manuals. The scenario design DOC one installed in EE would definitely help any beginner and has a few things you would never find like hill bumping. Just nice if they could stick a little extra in there. Having to simplify things so any gamer can understand how to play. This time and effort could probably been of used for a better purpose. Yet, I had a lot of trouble understanding HOI until a few games later. Would of probably helped to have some better tutorials, but of course that would of mean less time on the buggy AI. Grex, Imhotep, Jaded Knights, Punks, University, Glows, Facility, Trade Center, Stainless Steel Studios.I find the manual makes more sense if you play and screw up a couple times. I didn't think the EE manual was too bad and I was delighted to see an electronic manual for the editor (surely this a first to actually have a manual ship with the editor!) although I think publishers tend to depend on the fan community a little too much to get the strategies and walkthroughs and documented unit details. I think it's a tragedy when a third party can produce a 200 page strategy 'guide' full of important info not included with the original game manual. This should not happen. One thing I was dissapointed with since day one is the lack of information on the EE home page. I think there are about 15 units actually listed on the page with brief descriptions:\. It certainly did not encourage me to buy the game. Mostly for games such as Medieval: Total War or Hearts of Iron. These games are best enjoyed, in my opinion, when you know the ins and outs of the game details. I remember a game I used to play called Command HQ, I almost memorized that friggin' manual. There were a lot of little things omitted on purpose so that the game could not be nailed down to every single detail. Variables and whatnot that seemed to change every time you played the game. Those little things I don't mind being hidden, as it adds a mysterious variety to the game (As long as it isn't so major as to frustrate you). Back in the day when they made GOOD manuals, a lot of WWII games had extensive historical information in them.Empires Aeon staff member No longer a member of DoJo I like to figure out a game for myself. That doesn't mean I don't play the game first and deal with the consequent humiliation.:-) Manuals provide some very useful, in some cases essential information. Of course, so do online communities. In most cases the focus is just different, but this results in different (and consequently uniquely valuable) information being revealed from each source.Hank, we hold you personally responsible to get us a first rate manuel the approximate size of Webster's dictionary. Good Luck, buddy Surely you jest. The best way I have learned to play is jump on-line and try to mimick that of other players; even if they are slightly better it will help you benefit. Not only will it give you the current strategies you might also be able to improve on them with a more open mind. Found myself strangely lost although it is a very basic game. Than I read the manual (few hours later when I fiquared out most of the basics) and learned a few good things. Remember reading all of AOE's, EE's, DAOC's, and probably Diablo soon enough. Grex, Imhotep, Jaded Knights, Punks, University, Glows, Facility, Trade Center, Stainless Steel Studios. The Chilton book is made by real mechanics, and explains simply. Without ever taking one autoshop course, I have put on new brakes, replaced a radiator, did a complete tuneup(including timing), replaced hoses, belts, and even did some electrical rewiring. The factory manual would haved preferred that I spent a lot more money on mechanichs doing the work. Park: I read the entire 50,000 word historical appendix for AoE1 retail.Every 'function' and it's purpose should be described. How many of us go to sites like this to actually learn all the functions for a game. Many times it's because the manual strangely omitted it. Where a gamer gets his information is up to the indivual, but the manual should have all the answers. What do you do when a game ages and forums die out.In the case of EE's, i think ill have to reinstall about 6 times to finish. Its also useful for learnin little parts about the game(such as puttin villagers into granary to increase the production, etc) Hope Empires: DOTMW will be as large a manual, as well as the game. These atoms now form a conglomerate. With the arrival of humans?the universe has suddenly become conscious of itself.I went through the manual of AoC quite a few times to understand the new powers. Other ages witnessed fantastic inventions. It can travel through space, but it is unarmed. The Spy Satellite first becomes available during the Digital Age. Becoming available in the Copper Age, these walls are built from wood. They are not, however, as strong as walls made from stone.
