This monitor is Microsoft Windows Plug and Play co mpatible and the monitor w ill work correctly without installing the.INF file. Monitor Plug and Play compat ibility requires th at the computer’s graphic card is VESA DDC2 compliant and that the mo nitor connects directly to the graphics card. The Image Color Matching File The.ICM files are da ta files that are us ed in co njunction with graph ics programs to provide cons istent color matching from monitor scree n to printer, or fr om scanner to monitor screen. The.ICM file conta ins a monitor color system profile. This file is activated from within graphics programs that support this feature. It allows you to place your monitor into its low power slee p mode at predefined times by shutting down or reducing powe r to most internal circu its. This helps protect the LCD panel a gainst image retention. Ima ge retention can occur when the monito r is left on while displayi ng the same image for an exte nded period of time, leaving a sh adow of the image on th e screen. Installing the HP Disp lay LiteSaver Software 1. Insert the CD in the com puter CD-R OM Drive. The CD menu displays. 2. Select Install HP Display LiteSaver Software. 3. After installing the software, click the HP Display LiteSaver icon in the Windows system tray or right-click the icon and select Configure.Display Off Sets the time when the monitor automatically turns off. This does not affect scr een saver operation, which has priority over the HP Display LiteSave r. Display On Sets the time when the monitor automatically turns o n. This does not affect screen saver operation, which has priority over the HP Display LiteSave r. Activity Extension Sets the time in minutes before the moni tor turns off if there is any keyboard or mouse activity after the Display Off time is reached. If the key board or mouse is used, then HP Display LiteSaver waits until the set amount of time before turning the display off again. Set to 0 to disab le. The monitor also sup ports a reduced pow er state. The re duced power stat e will be entered in to if the monitor detects the absence of the signal. Upon de tecti ng the absence of the signa l, the monitor screen is blanked, the backlight is turned off, and the po wer lig ht is turned amber. Wh en the monitor is in the reduced power state, the monitor will utilize less than 2 watts of power. There is a brief warm up period before the monitor will return to its norm al operating mode. Refer to your computer manual for instructio ns on setting en ergy saver features (sometimes called power managem ent features). NOTE The above power sa ver feature only works when co nnected to computers that have energy saver features. By selecting the settings in the mo nitor's Energy Saver utilit y, you can also program the monitor to enter into the redu ced poser state at a predetermined time. When the moni tor's Energy Saver utility causes the monitor to enter the reduced power state, the power light blinks amber.
